INCINERATOR MEETING 01/10/2015
Last night Hamilton Accies Community Outreach hosted a meeting where over 300 residents from the community of Whitehill and surrounding areas attended to attempt to find a way on halting the plans to install a waste incinerator close to their homes and schools.
The people of Whitehill and surrounding area believe there is enough evidence to suggest there is an increase of cancers by around 8% where these types of waste process plants are installed. The people of Whitehill and surrounding areas respectively request that the developer for this incinerator attends a civic meeting where they will have an opportunity to allay the increasing fears of all the local community. Next meeting is scheduled for Thursday 8th October 2015 at 7pm in the Function Suite, Hamilton Accies FC Stadium.
Hamilton Accies Community Outreach pledges “anything that concerns the local community concerns us” and they will make themselves available to assist in anything that they can do to support this community issue.
