Our u20s recorded a 1-0 win against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Wednesday afternoon (14th February).
‘Keeper Darren Jamieson aggravated a knee injury in the warm up so 17 year old Ross Connelly started a 20s game for the first time.
New recruits Chrysovalantis Kozoronis, George Stanger, Mickel Miller and Charlie Scott all played.
It was a very keenly fought and competitive encounter, with ex Accie Andy Millen in charge of the Killie side. There was a lot of good play by both, with Accies certainly more than edging it, with several good chances and shots from Cunningham, Miller and Breen in particular all blocked.
The games only goal was a very bizarre one, the Killie ‘keeper more than fumbling Ross Cunningham’s dangerous corner from the left and the keeper having a punch at clearing it, then fumbling it, slipping and somehow putting it into the back of the net.
Ross Connelly had several good stops as well, while overall we played well.
Accies – Connelly, Hughes (c), McCann, Stanger, Douglas, Scott, Breen, Miller, Tierney, Cunningham, Kozoronis (Kelly 55). Subs unused J Boyd, Mimnaugh, Smith, Scullion, Slaven, Jamieson
