Congratulations go to Michael McGovern and Antons Kurakins who are both away on international duty for friendly internationals next week.
Michael is away with the Northern Ireland squad who face Wales in Cardiff next Thursday before going to belfast where they will face Slovenia.
Antons is with the Latvian squad who have a training camp in Marbella, Spain, where they will face Gibraltar, before travelling back across Europe to face Slovakia in an away friendly.
Meanwhile, two of our academy players were in the Scotland u16 squad who took part in a UEFA Development Tournament in Serbia last week. They played Moldova, winning 2-1, then defeated hosts Serbia 2-1 and finally drew 1-1 with Israel on Sunday. Midfielder Steffen Connelly came on as a half time sub in all three games, while ‘keeper Jon McCracken played in the 2nd and 3rd matches, and only conceded a penalty in each game. Head of Youth George Cairns commented, “Both Jon and Steffen have been playing well and were fully deserving of their call up. I have had good reports on their performances. We have a number of good academy players developing well just now.”
