Popular Spanish defender Jesus Garcia Tena, 26, is now confirmed as being out injured for at least six months.
The defender sustained knee ligament damage on the opening day of the season in the League Cup tie at Ayr United’s Somerset Park.
Subsequent scans and consultations with the medical folks have now confirmed that he will miss much of the season.
The player is poised to go for an operation later this week.
Player / Manager Martin Canning commented, “It is a big blow to lose a player of Jesus’ technical ability so early in the season. He is a great reader of the game and his skill set will be a big miss for us. We wish him well with his operation and subsequent rehab where I am sure he will receive the best of attention.”
