Despite having the better of the play, and according to Motherwell Coach Stephen Craigan “Accies deserved to win”, unfortunately we missed two penalties as we lost 3-1 at home in the mini derby at NDP on Monday night.
Ryan Tierney missed a first half penalty for us, and we had a goalless first half. James Scott gave the visitors a 53rd minute lead before Ronan Hughes missed our second penalty in the 63rd minute.
Two minutes later the ever alert Ross Cunningham took advantage of some dithering in the Motherwell defence and slotted home the equaliser.
However a 76th minute strike, followed by an 83rd minute penalty, both from David Turnbull, saw ‘Well win 3-1.
