Newcastle United u23 1-3 Accies XI
We continued our pre-season build up with a 3-1 victory over Newcastle U23s in a behind-closed-doors match at the University of Stirling in Bridge of Allan
A Ross Cunningham double after Mason Bloomfield’s opener was enough to secure an Accies’ win in Stirling; where the English side have been based for their own pre-season training camp this week.
Bloomfield opened the scoring after 15 minutes when he headed home powerfully from Cunningham’s out swinging free-kick. Cunningham went from provider to scorer in the 75th minute when his direct free-kick from 25 yards cannoned in off the post to put the Accies 2 in front.
Ivan Toney pulled one back for Newcastle with 10 minutes to go before Cunningham got his second of the day from the penalty spot after substitute Miller had been brought down inside the area following a mazy run.
